About EFIM Academy

The European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM) is a leading scientific organization established in 1996, bringing together National Societies of Internal Medicine across Europe and beyond. Today, EFIM represents 50 National Societies from 46 countries, connecting a community of more than 65,000 internists. Registered as an international non-profit organization under Belgian law, EFIM is dedicated to advancing the field of internal medicine through education, collaboration, and innovation.

Building on its strong tradition of high-quality scientific and educational activities, EFIM launched the EFIM Academy in 2021—an innovative digital learning platform designed to support internal medicine professionals at every stage of their careers.

Our Mission

EFIM Academy is a pan-European initiative committed to delivering high-quality, continuous medical education through modern and accessible learning formats. Our goal is not only to provide up-to-date scientific knowledge but also to strengthen clinical reasoning and decision-making skills essential for everyday practice.

What We Offer

The EFIM Academy provides a comprehensive and evolving learning experience, including structured e-learning modules, case-based learning, one-minute learning content, pre-recorded lectures and presentations, live webinars, and knowledge assessments and community feedback opportunities.

Our content goes beyond standard curricula, offering real-world insights and perspectives from experienced clinicians across Europe and worldwide. It is designed to support practitioners of all levels, fostering both professional growth and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange.

Quality and Integrity

All content is developed with contributions from EFIM working groups, expert members, and collaborating organizations. The EFIM Academy Editorial Board ensures that every module is carefully reviewed for accuracy, relevance, and scientific integrity. Our materials are strictly non-promotional, independent, and focused on delivering unbiased, fit-for-purpose education. Many of our modules are also undergoing accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

Our Values

EFIM Academy is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment. We believe that diversity enriches education and strengthens our community. Guided by principles of fairness, respect, and equal opportunity, we strive to remove barriers and ensure that every learner has an opportunity to thrive.
